eating out
Complexities
hubby could have rules about interacting with any waiting staff if he is allowed
Reader suggestions
He was not allowed to order his own food when we dined out.
When the waiting staff would bring the menus, I would either directly point out that "he doesn't need one" or I would let him decide what he wanted and then order something else. It is quite humiliating for him to order the steak that he wanted, for myself, and say something like "That is a wonderful choice, I'll have the steak, but we put you on a diet dear, remember?" Then turn to the waitress and say "My husband would like a green salad without dressing and a club soda"
Of course he would also have to watch me eat dessert by myself as well.

When eating out and ordering hubby's food, choose items from the children's menu for him. (If you really want to punish him or remind him of his place, choose things that come with a colouring book and crayons and make him use them while you're in the cafe. I had this done to me a couple of times and I can promise you it's mortifying- I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me)
