Similar to lines in that it takes a long time and is pointless.
Numbers can be written in numbers or letters.
Set a number the writer must get to, so it is a very easy task to follow and effortless to set once the desired formatting is well understood.
Complexities
Some numbers can be written in a different colour.
Examples being:-
numbers ending in zero such as 50 or fifty.
prime numbers but this is very hard and requires a list of which they are so drives constant checking
numbers divisible by another number, such as 7 or seven. This again needs a maths brain or list.
