transcibing
Basics
Transcribing is merely copying out some text.
The text can have a moral purpose or some other form of value to the Wife.
Poems are good.
Long texts can be really hard to copy and the more technical the more difficult.
Basically pick a text that You think has some value or is just plain hard. Long texts are good in this case.
Over a long period a long work could be copied.
If You have a favourite book, what would be nicer to re read than a faithfully copied handwritten version. This could be a huge undertaking with punishment periods spread over a long time.
Traffic Offences
Copying out the appropriate sections of the Rules of the Road or Highway Code has been suggested as a good idea. Thanks to sweetie
Complexities
The main complexity is derived form the text itself, but having rule about format and layout that must be followed (as reasonably as can be with handwriting) makes it more formal.

Reader's Suggestions
Have hubby copy
- pages from the telephone book ( if you can find one !!)
- text in a language he doesn't understand.

One of the most versatile punishments hubby has to do is copying out dictionary definitions. It's that simple. However, I can use up anywhere from a half-hour or so to a whole torturous weekend depending on the exact.
1. I toss out a word, any word, and tell him to copy out the full dictionary entry.
2. I toss out a word and tell him to do the sheet. This is more complicated. He must find the word in the dictionary. Then copy out the entire sheet, front and back pages, containing that word. Any part of a definition spilling over from or to an adjoining page must also be copied out.
3. I toss out a word. He must copy out the definition of that word from the dictionary. Then he must consult the thesaurus for synonyms and copy ouf the definitions of those words.
4. Same as 3 but he must copy ouf the whole sheets containing those words.
Added complexity. --
a. For simple punishments, I just toss a random word which comes into my head. I may toss a specific word such as "obedience" or "respect" etc.
b. I may toss out a word and add "x times"
c. For 2, 3, or 4, he could be told to colour code. This would be a standard "Write the first word in green, write the last word in red and write the assigned word in blue".
d. For 4 I may tell him to include antonyms too.
From my point of view, it is super easy to assign a task. Say any word that comes into my head, and tell him which task to do. On the other hand, checking the task for accuracy is complex.
